Retail Banking Services In 2007 the New York State Banking Department (NYSBD) surveyed 207 retail banks across New York State to better understand the available products and services that may be of particular use to immigrant consumers and to the traditionally underbanked. Of those surveyed, 89 retail banks responded. The findings of this survey are unscientific and are to only be used as a snapshot of the financial services offered throughout the state. The percentages represented in this summary report are the results based on the respondents unless otherwise stated. The NYSBD has made this information available to the industry, community groups, consumer advocates and the general public on its Web site (www.banking.state.ny.us). Below is a summary of the responses. For institutions that would like to respond to the survey and be listed on the Web site, please contact Akua Soadwa at 212-709-1681 (akua.soadwa@banking.state.ny.us). She should also be contacted should institutions have any additions, changes or corrections to their response. Survey of Retail Bank Service in New York State - A Summary of Responses |
